Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 October 2026

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of picturetolink.com and its tools (the "Service"), operated by PictureToLink ("we", "us", "our"). By uploading an image, using any tool or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms, to our Privacy Policy and to our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who may use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to use online services without parental consent, whichever is higher. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.

3. What the Service does

The Service lets you upload images and receive web addresses ("Links") that display those images. When you upload an image we process it automatically: we may compress it, resize it to the size you choose (and to a maximum of 4096 pixels on the longest side), correct its rotation, convert it to another format if you ask us to, and remove embedded metadata such as EXIF, GPS location and camera details. The image compressor runs in your browser and does not upload your files to us.

The Service is free. We may display advertising on our own pages (such as the homepage, tool pages and articles). We do not place advertising on the pages that display your uploaded images.

Anyone who has a Link can view the image. Links are long and random and are not listed or searchable on our site, and image pages ask search engines not to index them, but a Link is not a password. Once you share a Link, the people you share it with can copy the image, forward the Link or publish it elsewhere, and we cannot control that. Do not upload anything you need to keep private or confidential.

5. Your content and your responsibility

You keep all rights you have in the images you upload ("Your Content"). You are solely responsible for Your Content and for how you share Links to it. By uploading, you confirm that:

  • you own Your Content or have every permission needed to upload and share it, including from any person who can be identified in it; and
  • uploading, storing and displaying it does not break any law or these Terms or infringe anyone's rights.

6. Licence you give us

To run the Service we need permission to handle Your Content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process (including compress, resize, convert and remove metadata from), cache and display Your Content, and to make it available to anyone who uses a Link to it, solely to operate, secure and improve the Service. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies we must keep to comply with the law or that remain for a short time in backups or caches.

7. Prohibited content and conduct

You must not upload, link to or use the Service for:

  • sexual content involving minors or anything that sexualises minors (child sexual abuse material). We report such material to the relevant authorities, including the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement where required, and preserve information as the law requires;
  • pornography, sexually explicit material or nudity;
  • intimate images of anyone shared without their consent;
  • content that is illegal where you are, where we operate, or where it is viewed;
  • material that infringes copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights;
  • graphic violence, gore, terrorist or violent extremist content;
  • content that harasses, threatens, bullies or incites hatred or violence against people based on protected characteristics;
  • personal data of other people shared without a lawful basis, including doxxing (publishing someone's private information such as an address, ID documents or contact details);
  • impersonation of any person or organisation, or deceptive content designed to defraud;
  • phishing pages, scam images, fake documents, counterfeit money or IDs;
  • malware or files designed to exploit software (including image files crafted to attack decoders);
  • spam, including using Links in unsolicited bulk messages.

You also must not:

  • use the Service as a general file host, content delivery network or bandwidth source for high-traffic websites, apps or games without our written permission;
  • upload or request content using automated means at a volume that degrades the Service, scrape the Service, or attempt to list or guess Links;
  • bypass or attempt to bypass rate limits, file-size limits, security measures or blocks;
  • interfere with, overload or attack the Service, including denial-of-service attacks;
  • probe or test the Service for vulnerabilities except under a responsible-disclosure process agreed with us;
  • use the Service to violate the rights of others or any applicable law.

8. Limits

We may set and change limits, including file size (currently 25 MB per image), supported formats (currently JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF), image dimensions, number of uploads and bandwidth per user. We may slow down, block or remove Links that receive unusually high traffic or that we reasonably believe are being used in breach of these Terms.

9. How long images are kept

  • Keep while in use (default): the image stays available while it continues to be viewed, and is deleted automatically after 12 consecutive months without any view.
  • Automatic deletion: if you choose 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days or 30 days, the image is deleted after that period.
  • Deletion by you: each upload comes with a private delete link. Anyone who has the delete link can delete the image, so keep it private.

We do not promise permanent hosting. The Service is provided free of charge, we do not keep backups of uploaded images, and images can be lost through technical failure or removed under these Terms. Keep your own copy of anything that matters to you.

10. Moderation, removal and suspension

We do not review every upload before it is published, and we are not obliged to monitor content. Uploads are checked automatically for sexually explicit content: clearly explicit images are refused, and borderline ones may be reviewed by a person. Automated checks make mistakes in both directions; if your image was refused in error, contact us. We may, at any time and without notice, remove any image, disable any Link or block access to the Service for anyone we reasonably believe has broken these Terms or the law, or whose use creates risk for us, our users or third parties. We may block re-upload of removed images. Where the law requires, we will tell you why content was removed and how to contest the decision.

To report an image that breaks these Terms or infringes your rights, use our report form or email Admin@picturetolink.com. Copyright notices must include the information listed on the report page. We act on valid notices promptly, normally by removing the image, and we may share a notice with the uploader where appropriate. Knowingly making a false or misleading notice may make you liable for damages. We remove repeat infringers' content and may block them from the Service.

12. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos and articles (but not Your Content), belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify or redistribute it except as allowed by law or with our written permission. "PictureToLink" and our logo are our trademarks.

The Service relies on third-party providers, including our hosting and storage provider and Google (for analytics and advertising). Our articles may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

14. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including features, limits and retention periods. We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free. Where a change materially reduces how long existing images are kept, we will publish the change on this page before it takes effect.

15. Disclaimers

The Service is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and that images will be stored, available or preserved without loss. Compression changes image data; check the result before relying on it.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, images, profits, revenue, goodwill or business opportunity, arising from or related to the Service; and
  • our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use the Service in the 12 months before the claim (which, for a free service, is nothing) and USD 50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

If you are a consumer, you may have rights under the laws of your country that cannot be excluded or limited by contract. Nothing in these Terms affects those rights.

18. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service or your breach of these Terms or of anyone's rights.

19. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your images with your delete links. We may suspend or end your access at any time if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections 4, 5, 6 (for content still stored), 12 and 15–21 survive termination.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when they last changed. If a change is significant, we will highlight it on the Service before it takes effect. By continuing to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

21. Governing law and disputes

PictureToLink is offered worldwide. These Terms are governed by the laws of the place where the operator of PictureToLink is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be heard by the courts of that place, except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim or rely on protections in your local courts. Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.

22. Contact

Questions about these Terms: Admin@picturetolink.com or our contact form.
