Frequently asked questions

Everything about turning images into links, privacy, limits and deleting images.

How do I turn a picture into a link?

Open the uploader, drop your image or tap “Choose images”, and copy the link that appears when the upload finishes. You can also paste an image with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac).

Which link should I use?

Use the direct link (ending in .jpg, .png and so on) for apps and anywhere that displays an image from a URL. Use the share page link to send a picture to a person. HTML is for websites and emails, BBCode for forums, and Markdown for GitHub and documentation.

Can I upload several images at once?

Yes — up to 20 at a time. Each one gets its own link, and “Copy all” copies every link in the format you choose, one per line.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up. Your recent uploads and their delete links are remembered in your browser so you can find them again on the same device.

Privacy and safety

Who can see my images?

Anyone who has the link. Links are random and not listed anywhere on our site, and image pages ask search engines not to index them. But a link is not a password — anyone you send it to can pass it on. Don’t upload anything private.

Do you remove location data from photos?

Yes. Every upload is re-encoded and all embedded metadata — GPS coordinates, camera model, date taken — is discarded before the image is stored.

Do you keep my original file?

No. We only store the optimised copy and a small preview. We don’t store your file name either.

How do I report an image?

Use the report form. We act quickly on copyright, privacy and illegal-content reports.

Limits and formats

Which formats are supported?

JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF (animated GIFs stay animated) and AVIF. SVG is not accepted because it can contain scripts. iPhone HEIC photos need to be exported as JPG first.

What is the maximum file size?

25 MB per image and up to 80 megapixels. Images are stored at up to 4096 pixels on the longest side.

Will compression make my image look worse?

The default “Balanced” setting is designed to be visually indistinguishable for normal viewing. Choose “High quality” for minimal compression or “Smallest file” when size matters most.

Can I compress an image without uploading it?

Yes. The image compressor runs entirely in your browser and lets you download the smaller file, including to a target size like 100 KB.

Keeping and deleting images

How long do images stay online?

By default, as long as people keep viewing them: an image is removed after 12 months without a single view. You can also choose to delete it automatically after 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days or 30 days.

How do I delete an image?

Open the private delete link shown after uploading (also saved under “Recent uploads” in your browser) and confirm. Deletion is permanent and every link to the image stops working.

Is hosting permanent?

No free host can promise that, and we don’t. We keep images online under the rules above, but please keep your own copy of anything important.

Why does my link say the image was removed?

It expired, was deleted with its delete link, was not viewed for 12 months, or was removed for breaking our rules.
